Pechdou is a picturesque, unspoilt hamlet set on a sunny hillside in the beautiful countryside of Lot et Garonne, South West France. Our three gites each sleep 4 people and were completely refurbished in 2008. Each has two bedrooms, a cosy living room with kitchen/dining area and a bathroom with bath and shower.
A short stroll up the lane brings you to our inviting 10m x 5m pool and large grassy area for games. With its south facing aspect, our pool benefits from the sun all day long. The stunning views down the valley and across to the little church make this an ideal place to spend a relaxing day.
There is a well-stocked local shop, with a cafe/bar in the pretty village of Saint Maurin, just a mile away. The remains of the 11th century abbey and the local museum in the village square are well worth a visit. In July and August, local vendors gather in the square every Wednesday evening for the night market, where you can sample food, wine and other locally produced goods and sing and dance the night away!
The surrounding area has something to offer the whole family. Local markets, vineyards, leisure lakes, bastide villages and a theme park are all just a short drive away. For the more active, tennis, horse-riding, golf and canoeing are also available locally.
